Feature Photo:
I asked my travel partner, Janis, to take this photo of me. We had just gotten off a very long, uncomfortable night bus, and ended up in a dusty town at the edge of a vast desert. It felt like the middle of no where, but Uyuni is hardly off the beaten path, most tourist passing through Bolivia make the trip to these salt flats. It was early morning when our bus arrived and everything was closed, except this juice cart. I practically ran down the road, asked for an orange juice and then ordered two more. Three fresh orange juices, the perfect remedy to the long, gritty part of traveling.
