Photography
Only in the last year have I begun to realize how much taking pictures means to me. It was getting into film that reignited my love of photography, the slower pace and tactile nature of analog fitting my personality much more than digital ever has. I am undoubtably an amateur, a hobbyist, but it is a goal of mine to dedicate myself more to the medium, to learn and practice. This is made easier by having recently moved to the Pacific Northwest where the landscapes offer opportunity for grand adventure and picture making.
For many years I have had a little whisper in the back of my mind yearning to bridge from still photos into video. Intimidation and shyness have staved off this aspiration for a long time, but many now is the time, now that I am not moving around as much and plan to slow down my travels, to focus on exploring the places now local to me, I think I can finally acquiesce to the relentless request of this whisper and make some videos.
In the interest of documenting my journey, in both photography and video, I have created a new space for sharing my photos: some recent, fresh off a roll of film, and some found in the depths of my hard drive from years ago.
