merritt Wever is soooooo good.

she is one my new favorite actors. I love the way she speaks, her accent & her character is a bad-ass

turns out, I love me a western: the setting, costumes, a hot cowboy doing a good thing…what’s not to like?

Jeff Daniels is an impressive phyco, villain & while the story takes time to build, the gun fight at the end is worth every moment.

Most of all I loved how each character wore a hat, I now really want to grow a collection of hats.

hiking boots - Asolo Stynger GTX Hiking boot

I’ve needed new hiking boots for over a year, after I realized my previous pair were way too small.

No Duh Lily, that’s why your toes were always so cold & all the blisters…

After living in Norway, I was really after a paiR OF lUNGHAGS. My friend Astrid has a pair & they seem to fulfill the versatility I am looking for, especially the forest boot: perfectly covering everything from a cool, casual stroll through the city, maybe in the rain, to epic snow covered mountains. I should have gotten a pair while in Scandinavia because they are impossible to find state-side.

So they will have to be my next pair, maybe if i get back to norway

i HAD NO IDEA REI HAD A SECOND HAND SITE & IT ROCKS. THERE ARE SOME SERIOUS DEALS ON THERE FROM CLOTHING TO GEAR. oNE ASPECT OF SECOND HAND THAT i APPRECIATE SO MUCH, AS SOMEONE WHO GETS A LITTLE OVERWHELMED BY CHOICE, IS THAT IT NARROWS DOWN YOUR OPTIONS TO SIMPLY WHAT IS AVAILABLE.

sO i scrolled THROUGH THE SECOND HAND HIKING & MOUNTAINEERING BOOTS & FOUND THE Asolo Stynger GTX Hiking boot IN MY SIZE FOR $150. thEY RETAIL FOR CLOSER TO $300 SO THAT SEEMED LIKE A DEAL TO ME.

ORDERING ON LINE IS NOT IDEAL FOR HIKING BOOTS & IT IS BETTER TO TRY THEM IN PERSON. HOWEVER, YOU MIGHT WANT TO ORDER TWO SIZES THAT SHOULD WORK FOR YOU AND SEND ONE BACK. THIS IS NOT IDEAL FOR YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT, BUT IF LIKE ME YOU ARE NOT IN A LOCATION WITH ACCESS TO A PHYSICAL STORE THEN THIS IS YOUR BEST OPTION.

sizing = one entire size larger

In Norway I learned that winter boots, for activity or not, should be around one full size larger than you typically wear. This allows ones toes to create heat & for that heat to circulate in the extra space, keeping toes warm. Plus, minimizing contact between toes & boot = no blisters.

tHIS CONCEPT BLEW MY MIND, ITS SO OBVIOUS BUT i HAD NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT IT BEFORE, & HELPED ME TO REALIZE AT 26 THAT i AM NOT A SIZE 8-8.5 i AM IN FACT A SIZE 9!

sweden’s highest cafe

While looking for a link to add above, I found this story on the Lundhags website that tells the tale of a couple operating the highest cafe in Sweden.

Ever so sweetly their names are, Leslie & Ludvig. Ludvig is from Åre so he is familiar with this landscape, the extreme weather, and his parents also worked on this summit. Leslie, however, is from Mexico and in the article explains, “ I had never eaten a waffle or even seen snow.”

Turns out Lundhags is a really cool brand. They also make boots that clip into ice skating blades, how cool is that?!
