Monday
woke up, the sun was shining, made some coffee & discovered a few feature on stories where you can can make a grid.
Been off the gram stories but trying to get back into them because I love them.
TUESDAY
i almost bought a toyota tacoma
After our usual morning climb at the gym, Natalie and I met up with a dude selling his Toyota Tacoma. I have been playing with the idea of buying a car since being back in the states - it seems to be a handy way to get around this giant country. I fancied myself heading into the Sierra, to Tahoe for some show and then down to Mammoth to jump in an ice cold lake.
Things got pretty serious, I was pretty in love and we had a date set to meet at the mechanics. Unfortunately and fortunately, someone else snuck into the situation offering more money and just like that the car was sold to someone else.
It was sad to miss out on this epic truck but I’ll find another one, I’m sure of it.

The black route
The black route to the right, before the chimney and interwoven with the red and white routes, became my crux this week. There as one section, across from the ledge that I was really struggling with. I even started dreaming about it.
I started to think that while in the moment of climbing this route I felt I was trying so hard, maybe I wasn’t really trying very hard.
Finally, by pressing into the wall with my back and shimming a few inches higher I could reach the hold I needed to advance. As it turned out, the route only got harder after that move, but there was no way I wasn’t getting to the top after passing the crux.
My sweet belay partner, Natalie bought me a coffee post climb to celebrate.
Friday
I finally Learned to play chess!
I have only won once and it was a total fluke. However, I did get myself into this prime situation last Friday and had to take a picture of it. I can’t remember what it is called but my knight had her pick of a rook, queen or king. Of course, I took the queen because she really scares me.
