Eliza In Norway

In September my sister Eliza came to visit for ten days: she helped around the island, we did lots of activities and it was awesome to have her in the place I love so much.

Traveling around as often as I do, seeing family and friends is never guaranteed, so spending two weeks with my best friend following ten days with one of my sisters was a great month!

first we got our bearings & walked around the island

As we walked around the island there was sunshine to the west and ominous clouds to the east. I love this land and its crazy weather, you never know what is going to happen.

and then, we walked around Nordskot

We gained just enough elevation to get some views over the village of Nordskot and then we hiked a little further for a view of the island, along with the entire archipelago of islands stretching south.

A few days later, we went to the beach

This was the first time I drove the motor boat alone, with just my trusted skipper! I’m sure half of her trust comes from the fact that she doesn’t drive at all, it must have helped her be so confident in my ability to deliver us safely to shore for our hike to the beach, but I was really nervous. I was transporting precious cargo.

Another afternoon, We went sea kayaking

In ideal conditions, the sea as smooth as glass, we paddled around our neighbors’ island to the west. We saw a sea eagle with a fish, jellyfish floating along the calm currents, and starfish, sea urchin and anemones scattered along the sea floor.

then we looped back around, heading east towards nordskot & then south to our island home

last but not least, We went rock climbing

Big thank you to my friends and very cool managers, Astrid & Jesper, for being so generous and inviting me to share this place with friends and family.
